The school is set up over an area of 100 acres. Offering high school education, the school has eight grades of education from fifth to twelfth standard. The total strength is about 700. All students are tribals (from undivided Koraput i.e. Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri & Nabarangpur). The school is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Hatamuniguda, celebrated the National Sports Day with great zeal and energy through a three-day programme held from 28th to 30th August, 2026, commemorating the birth anniversary of the legendary hockey maestro, Major Dhyan Chand. The celebration highlighted the vital role of sports in shaping healthy bodies, disciplined minds and strong characters. It began on 28th August with a floral tribute to Major Dhyan Chand, followed by homage to India's sporting heroes. Later in the day, the students participated in the "29 Challenges," including "Pass the Ball Challenge", which generated great excitement and encouraged teamwork and co-ordination.

The spirit of love, bonding, and togetherness came alive as Raksha Bandhan was celebrated with great joy on 28th August, 2026. The junior section students creatively crafted colourful rakshis using various art-integrated techniques and tied them on the wrists of their seniors. The heartfelt gesture symbolised love, protection, and togetherness, filling the occasion with warmth, gratitude, and cherished memories.
The 80th Independence Day was celebrated at the Sports Complex of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Hatamuniguda, in an atmosphere filled with patriotism and spirited enthusiasm.
With an aim of inspiring the young minds to discover diverse career opportunities in Indian Navy, a special lecture titled “Indian Navy – A Career of Adventure, Responsibility and Lifelong Learning” was organized at the Vivekananda Hall of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Hatamuniguda, on 14th August, 2026.
